Senior Emergency Response Specialist

This individual is responsible for coordinating, executing, and assisting in all aspects of WCEC’s involvement with Emergency Response activities.  The Senior ER Specialist is responsible for leading a team of people during day-to-day operations to accomplish onsite spill response needs.  This position develops creative approaches so that we can achieve the total quality solution for our client and meet the company’s financial goals.

Primary Accountabilities:

  • Working to meet internal and external client needs
  • Working collaboratively with all employees, vendors, and all other stakeholders to accomplish responsibilities

Primary Responsibility:

  • Coordinates and executes Emergency Response activities as calls come in which includes; talking with the client to understand what their needs are, coordinating personnel and equipment to respond to the emergency, Supervising and directing the field team during the response, ensuring the emergency is handled to the satisfaction of the client, ensuring wastes generated during the cleanup are properly managed, Ensuring all follow up work is coordinated and completed in a timely manner and to the client’s satisfaction
  • Assists with managing the OSRO program
  • Takes individual responsibility to accomplish the overall assignments for the position.
  • Works with WCEC IS Coordinator to achieve readiness expectations, optimal response results, and client satisfaction
  • Maintains good relations with clients; thoroughly explain procedures, potential costs, and timelines involved in the completion of a project.
  • Directs Spill Response Team Members in completion of on-site activities during emergency responses and follow up project work.
  • Completes 24-hour spill reports after each response
  • Completes invoicing documents promptly and accurately.
  • Works with other company departments to meet weekly and monthly reporting requirements.
  • Uses the company’s internal software accurately to complete the job tasks required of the position.
  • Other duties may be assigned to meet business needs

Education and Experience:

  • Two (2) year degree required, Four (4) year degree from accredited college or combination of post-secondary in applicable course of study preferred.Six to eight plus (6-8) years related industry experience preferred.Previous supervisory experience preferred.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • No direct reports
  • Responsible for onsite field supervision

Working Environment:

  • Maintain regular business hours

On call schedule

  • Weekends and holidays as needed

Travel required

  • On call one week each month
  • Spends approximately 80% of time conducting field work
  • Travels to accomplish spill response duties

Outside Sales Person and Customer Relations

This position develops new client relationships, new sources of revenue, and maintains and promotes existing services by promoting and selling the company's industrial waste and environmental solutions in a regional market. This individual is a leader to provide the customer with their total quality solution. Each of our customer's solutions will be different and the qualified candidate will be able to understand and interpret how WCEC IS can help meet their need. This customer satisfaction will intern result in the company meeting its financial goals.

Primary Accountabilities:

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Develops and maintains client relationships for existing and new business
  • Maintains and builds client relationships and pursues sales opportunities in conjunction with IS sales role
  • Prepares client quotes, bids, or RFP including costing
  • Works with field staff thoroughly to manage job cost and issues any needed change orders, performs project management duties
  • Analyzes labor and material costs per job, assists in contract review
  • Assist with collections and sales tracking entry
  • Leads proposal efforts generated by sales opportunities
  • Total sales in IS will be the leading metric by which the performance is evaluated
  • Promotes all company policies and safety standards
  • Communicates and collaborates in a respectful manner with all other employees, supervisors, clients, and vendors

Education and Experience:

  • Minimum Two (2) year degree from accredited college or combination of post-secondary in applicable course of study preferred. Five-Ten (10) plus years related industry experience preferred.

Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Minimum Qualifications:

  • Ability to maintain positive customer relations
  • Ability to work independently
  • Basic Accounting skills
  • Communication skills at an advanced level (verbal, written, presentation & telephone)
  • Ability to use Microsoft Office Suite: WORD, EXCEL, PowerPoint, Outlook, Share Point at an intermediate to advanced level

General Labor / Field Technician

This position is responsible for performing tasks at a beginner level associated with emergency response, spill sites, and site remediation. Employee contributes to the overall company mission of providing the total quality solution to our customer.

  • Operates and inspects heavy and light equipment and reports any deficiencies.

  • Maintains the ability to perform required duties in level A, B, C and D PPE including supplied air as necessary.

  • Calibrates, uses, and documents meters and readings.

  • Performs heavy lifting and repetitive motions.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience:

  • Minimum High School diploma or GED required from. Two (2) or Four (4) year degree from accredited college or combination of post-secondary in applicable course of study preferred. 0-1 years related experience and training preferred.

  • Specialized training and certification in hazardous materials handling or a confined entry permit are generally required.

Working Environment:

  • Travel required - (mostly regional)

  • On call spill response rotation required (every 6 weeks)

  • Weekends, evenings, and holidays as needed

  • Perform during company’s scheduled business hours

Project Manager Industrial Services

A mix of in town, regional, and overnight work employees have scheduled weekends on and off.  This position focuses on combined client development, sales, and project execution and management to help the company fulfill its financial goals.  Persons are responsible to provide the customer with the total quality solution, meet quality standards for services, and evaluate and achieve customer satisfaction.  The position is comprised of a base salary and commission structure coupled with a full benefit package.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Maintain existing client relationships and obtain new clients.

  • Prepare proposals describing scope, schedule, and estimated budget for executing projects.

  • Organize and direct project teams for a wide variety of clients with environmental compliance tasks.

  • Provide quality assurance/quality control of project deliverables.

  • Identify applicable environmental regulations.

  • Lead development of permitting and compliance strategies.

  • Assist clients in identifying appropriate monitoring, planning, training, testing, record-keeping, and reporting protocols.

  • Provide project team guidance and, when necessary assist with the preparation of project deliverables.

  • Performs job walks.

  • Develops scope of work for special projects.

  • Generate project and budgetary estimates.

  • On site supervision to ensure the completion of the job within job scope

  • Performs other assignments as assigned by management

  • Manage all aspects of assigned projects

  • Prepare proposals, scopes of work and bids

  • Track project status and budget to ensure that projects are completed in timely manner and as proposed

  • Oversee and direct field staff during investigation activities

  • Prepare scientific reports including detailed data summary, analysis and recommendations

  • Provide effective and innovative solutions to complex problems

  • Maintain good relations with clients; thoroughly explain procedures, potential costs, and timelines involved in the completion of a project.

  • Maintain good relations with regulatory agencies.Maintain up-to-date knowledge of regulatory policies and expectations

Working knowledge of Safety Leadership and management skills

Field Technician Industrial Services (multiple)

A mix of in town, regional, and overnight work employees have scheduled weekends on and off.  We will train employees on the use of industry specific equipment and duties.  Great opportunities for Overtime.  Full benefits include medical, dental, vision, vacation time, sick bank, retirement, life insurance, paid holidays, and long term disability.  This position is the gateway to a HAZMAT driving position!   $18.00-22.00 per hour depending on experience.  Paid hourly.

  • Identify, remove, pack, transport, or dispose of hazardous materials, including asbestos, lead-based paint, waste oil, fuel, transmission fluid, radioactive materials, or contaminated soil.

  • May operate earth-moving equipment or trucks.

  • Follows the company’s environmental, health, and safety policies and reports any unsafe conditions.

  • Operates and inspects heavy and light equipment and reports any deficiencies.

  • Performs emergency response activities.

  • Maintains, cleans, and organizes trucks and trailers.

  • Ability to perform required duties in level A, B, C and D PPE including supplied air as necessary.

  • Calibrate, use, and document meters and readings.

  • Perform heavy lifting and repetitive motions.

  • Meets on-call requirements.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience:

  • Minimum High School diploma or GED required from.  0-1 years related labor experience preferred.
